Some patients are affected by Temporomandibular Disorders (often called "TMJ/TMJ Treatment" as a layterm by some) and are looking for ways to reduce their symptoms.
Tempormandibular joint pain, facial muscle pain, "slipped disc", or jaw locking open or closed
Your prosthodontist can peform a comprehensive TMD (temporomandibular dysfunction) exam to gather information as well as a detailed patient interview to determine the symptoms. Often times, these problems will need to be isolated and treated with one of various types of oral splints and/or oral medications to help reduce symptoms. Other treatment modalities may also be included in the treatment plan.
